Through my role as Production Manager for the Visualization Program, I had the opportunity to take on a support role for the school's Summer Industry Course: a graduate-level course where Texas A&M partners with a professional studio to support the creation of student films. This garnered me my first credit as an Associate Producer on the completed student shorts.
This was the first year the course was centered around Virtual Production, a filmmaking technique completely new to our program. I assisted in creating a suite of project management tools for the students, giving them a template for how to structure their project timelines to meet given course deadlines. As well, I was the primary point of contact for all travel arrangements. We spent two weeks shooting on a volume at Stray Vista Studios in Dripping Springs, Texas. I helped arrange hotel bookings, transportation, and 3 meals a day for all students and faculty.
Throughout the summer, I was also responsible for helping document the first-of-its-kind course. This involved taking extensive notes, serving as our primary photographer, and editing short-form video content for the school's social media to advertise the course.
